Lovegrove, Terry Anthony Luka - Luke, bringer of light

Grandparents, Moerau & Makiroa, Uncles, Mum’s youngest 3 brothers, Rennie now 62yro, Sonny 58 and Terry who has passed, is 56 on Jimi Hendrix birthday in November. Jamie our cousin who has also passed.

Good memory of Terry, Sonny and I at Mt Smart on the fence and Wayne Scurrah walks past and Sonny goes, " Bro you need to beef up ur forwards " lol. Terry & I cracked up. All of them are die hard Warriors fans since 95. Was with these guys everywhere, town centre, city, Carlaw Park, the creek , walking everywhere & the bus.

Lovegrove St is the street Terry lived on in Brisbane between 2012-2026. In Ōtara there is a Lovegrove Cres. Some memories. Terry , ruler of the people, Anthony, high praiseworthy, Luka, bringer of light.

I find it difficult to write about Uncle Terry, hence a collage. Not a day goes by I don’t think of him and say “ I miss you bro.” If you knew who he was in my life, you would understand why.

He is 4 years older than me and right up until he passed we were always in contact. When he was in Australia from 2012 onwards it was every 2nd weekend with a phone call, video call. And in NZ it was every weekend. He spent 2 Christmases and NYs here in Sydney. I loved having him here. I truly believe to this day, he was perfectly placed in my life, because God knew what lay ahead. He knew what I would go through, over the many years and that I would require that stable, solid person that was stress free and safe in all ways. We have never had one arguement in our entire lives. People may think that is unhealthy. Not really, when you consider I would get other life experiences elsewhere. Everyone needs that 1 person that feels like home.
